On the Authority of Anas ibn Malik, The Prophet (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
“If a Muslim farms the land or plants a tree, and then a bird, a beast or a man eats something from it, he receives in return the reward of a charity.”

The Prophet of Allah (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:
“A Muslim who plants a tree or sows a field, from which man, birds and animals can eat, is committing an act of charity.”

The Prophet (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
“Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: ‘Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’”

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr ‘Abdullah (Radiyallahu `anhu), a person asked Allah’s Apostle (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam),
“What (sort of) deeds in or (what qualities of) Islam are good?”
He replied,
“To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you don’t know.”

The Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
“Once, a man saw the branch of a tree in the middle of a road. So, he said, ‘By Allah, I will remove this from the path of the Muslims so they may not be hurt. ‘ For this action, he was put in Paradise.”

A man walking along a path felt very thirsty. Reaching a well, he descended into it, drank his fill, and came up. Then he saw a dog with its tongue hanging out, trying to lick up mud to quench its thirst.

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radiyallaahu `anhu), The Prophet (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
“If the wife gives of her husband’s property (something in charity) without his permission, he will get half the reward.”

Adi Bin Hatim (Radiyallaahu `anhu) reported: Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
“Protect yourself from the Hell-fire even by giving a piece of a date as charity.”

The sayings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam),
“Among the best deeds are to feed the poor and the deserving and to greet those whom you know and those whom you do now know”
